HISTORY

Believing in God’s Word and Spirit

Faith & Life Fellowship Ministries was birthed from the vision of its founders, the late Rev. Dr. Hamilton Taitt, and Lady Ethelence Taitt. It was established for religious, benevolent, charitable and educational purposes; taking the Gospel of Christ to all people; and ministering to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of people. In October 1998, Faith & Life Fellowship Ministries commenced in Miami, Florida. After four years, the church relocated to Hollywood, Florida where its ministry expanded. This family style, Bible-based church has welcomed family and friends from all over the world. This house of worship comprises of people from diverse backgrounds including those from the United States, islands of the Caribbean, South America and Africans. At the forefront of this ministry is winning souls for Christ and teaching the infallible Word of God.
Rev. Dr. Hamilton Taitt and his wife pastored the church for several years. They were supported in ministry by Pastors Vincent and Deborah Joseph, and Pastor Ronald Francis, along with other ministers, leaders and members. The expansion of our local church was divinely set in order from the church’s 2010 mission’s trip to Ghana, Africa. Without any plans of putting down the stakes there, God saw it differently. In 2012, a missionary group made a second trip to Africa to conduct an intensive 3 weeks of Biblical training and empowerment studies for ministers and church leaders with the coordination of our liaison and Ghanaian minister, Rev. Erik Awuku. The training was successful and Rev. Dr. Taitt ordained ninety-nine ministers. A few of the ministers started Faith and Life Fellowship Ministries in Ghana under the umbrella of our organization. In 2016, Faith and Life Fellowship Ministries purchased and dedicated land in Kasoa, Ghana to be used for the FLFM Ghana church. A new chapter was opened on April 7, 2013 when the church took the step of appointing Rev. Vincent Joseph as Senior Pastor of the church. Both Pastor Vincent Joseph and his wife, Pastor Deborah Joseph made an impact on the community especially with the expansion of social services to the people of Hollywood, and with their untiring dedication to the church body. On May 19, 2013, Rev. Dr. Hamilton Taitt was consecrated Bishop of the FLFM global church. His wife, Lady Ethelence Taitt joined with Bishop Taitt to become the General Overseers of the FLFM organization.
Faith & Life Fellowship Ministries has ministers outside of the Pastoral body: Rev. Laurel Taitt-Robinson and Rev. John Williams. Each minister has made significant and sacrificial contributions in helping to actualize the vision and mission of the church. With special acknowledgement, the late Rev. Matilda Dobney, known as the Church Mother and a woman of love, made an indelible mark in every ministry of the church, especially in the areas of music, evangelism and missions. The late Dr. Joyce Ellis, missionary and teacher, established the Missions Department, which has expanded its outreach to foreign nations such as Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, Tortola, British Virgin Islands, and Ghana, Africa. Faith & Life Fellowship Ministry is supported by the Deaconate, along with ministry leaders of Auxiliaries who have been selfless in their dedication and have been of great support to the work over the years.
God has directed Faith & Life Fellowship Ministries with a four-fold purpose to fulfill as manifested in its ministries. These align with the following four focuses: Spiritual – Sunday School Ministry, Youth Ministry, Children’s Ministry, Missions and Evangelism Ministry, Praise and Worship Ministry, Anointed Messengers in Motion (AMIM), Anointed Levites Mime Ministry (ALMM), Family Ministry – Couples and Singles, and Fundraising and Finance Committee; Educational – Faith & Life Equipping Center (FLEC), Arts, Communication and Technology Society (ACTS); Physical – Ministry of Social Care and Transformation; and Counseling – Ministry of Counseling and Care.
In retrospect of the church’s 20 years, there have been many highlights that have made an impact in the Kingdom of God. Due to the collective efforts of the church body and bathed in the prayers of the faithful, the following are such events: Weekly food and bread distribution to hundreds of people, Youth Rallies, Youth Camps both locally and overseas, Youth and Family Retreats and Conferences, Concerts and Drama productions, Evangelism outreaches in the parks or outside of the church, Ministry though monthly visits to the elderly home and or homeless shelter, Christmas Gala, Father Me Mentoring initiative at Home Depot, Night of Praise, Multi-Cultural events, and so much more.
The vision of the Overseers has been to see the ministry expand here in Florida, the United States, across the Caribbean and throughout Africa. We thank God for the vision and for the leadership of the House as we move forward together to build God’s Kingdom and establish His authority in territories that He has called us, as a church. Time is short and the world must be told the Good News of salvation, giving every man, woman, boy, and girl an opportunity to accept Christ as Savior, and make heaven his or her home.
